The purpose of this class is to introduce everyone to the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of humor, laughter and looking for the lighter side of life. The many stressors of our current world situation can wreak havoc on our mental or physical health and the old adage that laughter is the best medicine has a lot of validity to it. Based on the research and knowledge of Dr. Madan Kataria, founder of Laughter Yoga and the additional reinforcement of Dr. Steve Wilson of World Laughter Tour and the Association of Applied Therapeutic Humor, participating in laughter yoga sessions has a large array of health benefits. This class will provide information on the benefits of humor and laughter, along with principles we can use in our lives to help us lighten up in life. And the most fun part, participating in an online laughter session, which consists of some breathing techniques, stretching and funny laughter exercises which will leave you feeling lighter, more peaceful, less stressed and a feeling of connection with others by participating in the one thing all people have in common, the ability to smile and laugh!

Christina Conner has been a spiritual seeker all her life and has a diversified background but moved to Texas in 1980 where she found her calling at Unity of Houston, one of the largest and most dynamic New Thought spiritual centers in the US. She came on staff in 1992 and became a Licensed Unity Teacher/counselor in 2001. She also trained in 2002 to become a Certified Laughter Leader. She has been featured in the Houston Chronicle, Indigo Sun, Natural Awakenings, ADDitude Magazine, and on various Houston TV channels. Christina is a writer, has been published in the book, Hot Chocolate for Mystical Lovers and Always Hope and as an author, published her first book and audio, You Deserve It, under the pen name of Marisa Bellami. Her CD, High Reminders contains inspirational messages with quotes and affirmations, including one on laughter. She offers her services through speaking, workshops, spiritual coaching and You Deserve It Retreats.
